2021 Fall Conference

The 2021 NARSA/IDEA Fall Conference will take place September 16-17, 2021 in Texas, and we are working on a fantastic lineup of programs, tours and events! Everyone is ready to get back to in-person gatherings and we are looking forward to a well attended gathering.

Our host hotel this year is the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine, Texas. There are discounted rates for NARSA/IDEA members. To receive the discounted room rate, reservations must be made on or before August 24, 2021. Contact Mary Margaret Miller (marymargaret@narsa.org) to learn more. If you’d prefer to stay at another location, there are several hotels in downtown Grapevine and the Dallas/Fort Worth area! 

Grapevine Concourse Event Center

On Thursday, we’ll have a day of programming at the Grapevine Concourse Event Center. Economist Dr. Mary Kelly will join the NARSA family once again to talk about improving your leadership skills as well as succession planning. We’ll have additional speakers, roundtables, and information sessions to make sure that your business has all the tools it needs to succeed and grow in the current market. We’ll finish the day with a BBQ vendor dinner, so that you can network with other NARSA/IDEA members!

While Thursday will be programming focused, Friday will include a “DPF/Radiator Road Tour.” Our members will have the opportunity to tour and view several different shops and facilities in and around the Dallas area. This will be a fantastic opportunity for a behind the scenes tour of some of the leading businesses in our industry.

Evolution of Engine Coolants by Marty Martinelli, Old World Industries Director of National Fleet Channel

A review of coolant technologies and the operability challenges they face with today’s engines.  Attendees will review why we have coolant, the different technologies, and the maintenance required for each.

Marty Martinelli has worked for Old World Industries for the last 9 years with a concentration on National HD Trucking Fleets. Marty was Previously employed for 9 years by the Penray Companies, a Supplier of Coolant Additives. He is a Recognized Associate with the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) and has chaired several coolant related Recommended Practices (RP’s) in the S-3 Engines Study group. He has been in the HD Industry for 29 years and resides in North Carolina.

Dr. Mary Kelly

Dr. Mary Kelly is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and spent over 20 years on active duty in intelligence and logistics. She retired from the Navy as a commander.  She has masters’ degrees in history and economics, and a PhD in economics. With over 20 years combined teaching experience at both the Naval Academy and at Hawaii Pacific University, she taught economics, finance, history and management. She has extensive experience in business coaching, management, economics, finance, banking, insurance, real estate, government, organizational leadership, communication, business growth, teamwork, strategic planning, human resources, customer service, time management, and project development.
